Headed to the Hill Country this weekend to meet up with a good long time buddy of ours who's spent many of hours in the woods with us in the past years. This weekends menu was Transcaspian Urial & Mouflon. We headed out Saturday morning and shortly after 7 we were on a group of big Transcaspians with several giants in the group. After a short stalk we got ready for the shot only to have a Texas Dall ruin our plans taking the Transcaps off with him. As luck would have it we cut the group off and got the shot we needed. Brenton's .270 met it's mark. A short 40 yard tracking job and he had his giant 40"+ Transcaspian.
Saturday evening we decided to go look for the Mouflon after a fun filled day riding around the ranch with the kids, and putting in some range time. After a few hours of seeing almost every animal on the ranch it seemed without sight of the Mouflon we finally spotted the two rams we were searching for. Minutes passed seeming like hours waiting for the two rams to separate from the herd and present a shot. Finally the shot presented itself, and in Typical Brenton fashion he laid the hammer down on another giant 35" Mouflon.
