Just thought I would share a couple pictures recently taken of some pure mouflon and pure red sheep from the ranch..sheep can get confusing with all the crossing of this, that and the other these days so maybe this could be helpful if you are buying or going on a hunt as to what you are looking at. Our red sheep our found in one 4,000 acre pasture where as our mouflon are found in another 4,000 acre pasture before the question might arise of them crossing eachother..Youll notice a big difference in their horn configuration and markings...first 2 pictures are mouflon, last 2 are red sheep.

Beautiful rams. It's interesting, how the price flips and flops between the 2. I love reading about the hunts in TX. I am coming soon....

Do you have any idea how much self control it takes not to comment on that post!

I like the look of a red sheep when the look is intermediate between a urial and an armenian mouflon or are shaded towards urial. I've seen pictures of the red sheep from the Ox ranch and they look like they have too much armenian mouflon for my taste YMMV. I do know that they vary considerably in there home range.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

How much are your mouflons?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
