What are your thoughts on a Remington 721 chambered in 7mm stw? Douglas heavy barrel, trigger job and the bolt has been blueprinted and balanced. Ammo is a little pricey. Sorry I'm picking yalls brains but it's another trade offer I'm considering. Thx

I would think the trade would have to go heavy in your favor

Value? And what are you thinking of trading? Ammo wouldn't be overly bad to load.

I personally have no clue what the value is on it. The guy says he has $1200 in it which I can kinda see given the barrel and gunsmithing. Says only 20 rds fired. This comes with 2 stocks and a Nikon Buckmaster. He also has a Remington 700 long range in 25-06 with a Zeiss Tera 3-9 (10 rds fired). I posted my 6.8 AR with a Vortex Hog Hunter, it's on this forum also, and a Savage model 10 6.5 Creedmoor with a Timney trigger and Badger 20 MOA rail. Initially he asked to trade the 700 with scope for my AR setup. Then it took a turn. He wants to trade both of his for both of mine.

I'd first wonder why he put that much money into a gun then turn around and sell...although there could be lots of valid reasons. Second, what is your goal when it comes to the firearms you are considering? Do you have an intended use for a heavy bbl 7 mag? I've been doing some buying/trading with a fairly specific goal in mind for the firearms I want to end up with and would consider haggling (off board) for the 6.8.

The 721 is a good stout long action and they're usually super slick. That said, there's nothing there that blows me away. Regardless of what he says he's got in it, I'd set the bar somewhere in the $600-$700 range to get a relative basis against what you're trading. It just isn't that special... that is unless it's something special to YOU.

I know the guy has 1200 in it, but I agree that unless you find someone specifically looking for it, top dollar is $600-700.

Thx yall. I've moved on from it. I have no desire for the caliber itself and I'm not a wood stock fan. The initial trade was the 25-06 setup for my 6.8 setup, then set the trap on me and would only trade if I aslo traded my 6.5 for the 7mm stw. So the two for two deal. I already decided to keep the 6.5 Creedmoor.
