Installed mine on my AR .308 today. As soon as I installed it, I realized the set screw, to lock the adjustment screw in place, isn't accessible if it's installed. WTF??? So I'm supposed to set it in the middle & lock it down. If it's not perfect I have to loosen the set screws that hold the GB in place, slide the GB & tube back enough to get an allen wrench into the set screw, adjust adjustment screw, re-tighten set screw, slide GB & tube back into place & tighten the set screws that hold the GB in place. Repeat as needed. Why would anyone make an ADJUSTABLE gas block like this?

Does your barrel step up in size just past where the GB mounts?

I use one on my 308 AR no problems but I tuned it with my rail off and tightened it down and put my rail back on. My keymod rail comes off with 2 star screws YMMV

I can slide my HG off w/2 screws but that's not the problem. I plan to tune it w/out the HG on but it really won't make it any quicker/easier due to the set screw location.

Oh I get what you're saying now. I can get to my set screw without moving the gas block.

Is your barrel thicker, towards the action, than where the GB mounts?

Just a very small lip that holds the gas block in place but it's not to much thicker. I'd take my rail off and check but all my tools got stolen lol.

No sweat. Mine increases, I believe, from .750 to .950 where the GB stops. Sorry about your tools!

Yea .950 is like bull barrel mine is definitely not bull barrel thickness after the gas block.

Yeah, it's thick. I'm sure that's what the issue is but nowhere do they say "not recommended for a heavy barrel". Oh well, looks like an excuse to get the Syrac I was going to originally get! Anybody looking to buy a JBO adj. GB, PM me. But, I wouldn't recommend it for a heavy barrel!

So if I'm understanding, the problem is you have to remove the GB to adjust it? If so that does suck. Have to get yourself a Syrac or SLR sentry so you can adjust it from the muzzle end.

For the most part, yes. I don't have to slide it all the way off the barrel but I have to do 98% of the work to remove it. I just read the 1 star reviews on it & they all gripe that they can't adjust it w/out doing as I said. It's 100% GTG if you don't have a heavy barrel. Granted, it was only $35 delivered as opposed to SLR & Syrac being ~$120.

The gas block is designed to be adjustable and affordable, but won't have the same features/usability as gas blocks 2-4 times as expensive unfortunately. They're an adjustable gas block but not designed to be adjusted on the fly and repeatable. A "set it and forget it" type option, essentially. Odin, Syrac, SLR, and others make really nice adjustable gas blocks but unfortunately in order to build in those features they cost substantially more.

Wow that's pretty awesome to get the manufacture to comment. Joebob's has always had top notch CS and I've bought a LOT of stuff from them lol.

Good to see you joined here! Hopefully you'll stay around. Like I said, the JBO adj. GB is good to go, unless you have a heavier profile barrel behind the GB. Might be something y'all would want to put in the ad for it (sadly, I read all the 1 star reviews explaining this issue after I installed it). And I agree, good CS. JBO is GTG!
