Took my boy and dog out to this church by my house to throw a football and let the dog run. I few min in my dog returns with a beautiful long GSP trailing her. The dog looks a little strung out and won't come in close so we continue throwing the football while the dogs run all over.

Finally we leave. At home I tell my wife about the dog we saw. She pulls up a Facebook page about a lost dog from almost 3 weeks ago. Turns out it was the same dog. I call the number and head back out to retrieve the dog. I meet the owner out there and I turn loose my dog. 20 min later she returns with the lost dog trailing her again. The dogs reaction when she recognized her owner was priceless. She was so happy. Turns out the dog is a champion field trail dog. The owner and I sat and talked about quail hunting for an hour.
Wimberley is a small town and most people who live there don't hunt. There are not many quail hunters in this area either. Pretty cool.

Love happy endings. Do you remember the owners name?

Now that's a story I can love. This should get national media coverage. I'd be sick if I lost my GSP

Awesome! I lost a dog once for 4 days out hunting. I was sick to my stomach. Got a call that she showed up in town 18 miles away and she was in jail. Bailed her out and man was I glad to have her back.
