My Pointer pup is 5.5 months old. She eats 4-5 cups of food a day, divided in two feedings. Was thinking about going to once a day feed at 6 months. When do y'all cut back on feedings?

Either way should be fine. You just don't want to be feeding in the morning before hunting but that is a ways off.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Yeah Bill,
That feeding before hunting never worked for me. That's when I changed the gsp to once a day several years ago. First morning to hunt her after feeding, it all came back up after 15 minutes of running.

I know she's not a hunting dog do it probably won't help, but I've got a three month old collie/ heeler pup that eats three times a day and still looks skin and bones... I know she's a growing dog so I feeder her until she doesn't want to eat.

You can run but you can't hide...

Just weighed my pup today, 30.5lbs. She put on 7lbs in the last 2 weeks. She's filled out nice right now, but She's not getting enough exercise to keep feeding 5 cups a day. Will be cutting back a little til going to once a day next month
