cutting steel barrels for feeders

Found some barrels on craigslist at good price. What type of saw do yal use to cut out the bottom hole. I was thinking of using a hole saw bit. But the spin-cast template is larger than 5". Not sure if I can find one that size.

Drill a 1/2 hole close to your 5" mark. Then use a Jigsaw with a metal blade.

Make sure there is no flammable fumes or liquid in them before cutting. From Craig's list you never know where they have been.

Make sure there is no flammable fumes or liquid in them before cutting. From Craig's list you never know where they have been.
M Also, Make sure that you have the top off or at least the bung out if you use a torch.

I also drill a few holes with the largest drill bit I've got sitting around and then take a sawzall to it!
