Has anyone else had issues when ordering something online specifically with UPS to USPS transfer etc. I ordered something last week and was told I would receive it this past Saturday and still haven't received it. When I tried to track it down this afternoon all I got was UPS claiming that USPS had the package and then USPS claiming they have no record of ever receiving it. When I tried to get them to try and track it down they both directed me to the merchant which I had already contacted and which was absolutely no help at all. Frankly, the lack of responsibility that all three parties have shown and actually claimed drives me crazy! It almost seems like it's a game they play to try and get you to pay the higher shipping rates. If I'd known ground was going to be shipped from UPS to USPS I would have either had it shipped two day or would not have made the purchase at all. No where in the information did it say that their ground consisted of transferring the package from one carrier to another. I've had issues in the past when done this way. It's my fault for not checking but I'd never had an issue with this merchant before. I doubt I will used them again simply because of their service on this issue.

The truth is if you need something that retail outlets don't carry you're kind of stuck and at their mercy. The shipping at ground was already 30% of the cost which is really exasperating! It's the main reason I don't purchase more online stuff.

Ok, rant over.

Yeah that UPS to USPS deal is TERRIBLE. I've seen packages go all over the metroplex for days before final delivery. Now, first place I check is Amazon. You'd be amazed at the amount of hunting, firearm, and reloading products they have available and alot of it is eligible for prime. I ordered my entire reloading setup, Wiebad bags, Vortex scope, Magpul furniture, and countless other items off Amazon almost all of it free same-day or 2-day shipping.

My next place is Brownells and Midway but I usually wait until I have a few things to order and they have a free shipping or % off. I just ordered 1000 bullets from Brownells the other day on clearance with free Fedex shipping.

I've had the UPS-USPS handoff on maybe 10 shipments, and at least 3-4 had issues. I don't know why they started doing that but it's a failure in my opinion. On the two we never got worked out the retailer ended up biting the bullet both times and sending new orders.

I've always received my orders after a wait. Sad part is, I have tried upgrading shipping and waited about as long. This from Midway.

I've always gotten everything I've ordered, but watching the tracking where the UPS/USPS handoff is involved inspires no confidence. I saw one package arrive here (DFW) via UPS, then when USPS got it they had to send it to Fort Worth---via Houston! It finally did show up on my doorstep though.

It's awful...I actually can't believe someone thought it was a good idea. The USPS is failing for a reason....it's not because of emails.

I have actually had nothing but great transactions with USPS when using Priority Mail over the past few years. BUT the whole UPS-USPS transfer deal is a whole other story. IT SUCKS.

I have a small order from Midway that I'm waiting on now for that very reason.

The merchant stepped up the next day and assisted me with it so I did finally get what I ordered but I will never order something with that type of mail service again and the merchant noted on my account to not use that method of shipping for any order I place in the future.

And it arrived today. Shipped early morning on 5/20 and arrived 5/26.

I like Midway but not the UPS - USPS handoff shipping that my last couple orders have come in on. We have an Amazon prime account, free 2 day without the hassle on most stuff so I usually go that route if it is available.
