Some hunt hogs in the off season(we still do), we hunt the exclusive West Texas free range wild goats on our place. Had the pleasure of taking a good buddy and his son on an hunt that they never done before. These hunt are always rough/tough and now you can add HOT! It took all day but we finally got it done and it could have been the last time I climb these hills again, just getting to old.  Ran into this one when we going up the mountain, did not see it until we sat down to rest and got a surprise 170 yrd from us.  Found some below after we got all the way to the top!    This is the one he wanted, not my choice but doesn't matter to me.  Great hunt!

We use to have some of those on the first place I hunted in Coke county. Back part of the property was a huge canyon and they would roam back and forth between the two properties using that canyon. Once day I was glassing from the rim and saw a GIANT one I had never seen before. Only thing that stopped me from taking the shot is I had no idea how I was going to get him out of there. I would spend hours just watching them some days when the deer weren't moving.

What was the young hunter shooting? Both were taken with one of my rifles, 6.5 Creedmoor.
