I will be traveling to Tyler soon, and looking for places to eat. Anyone have any favorites?

Cast, having recently been in Tyler for the 1st time many many moons...mebbe 30+ years worth....my first thought was...If I wanted to live in North Dallas with all this traffic, I'd have MOVED to North Dallas instead of couple blocks down the street from the Davey Dogwood Park in downtown Anderson County.
OBTW Tylers the only place in all my national 30-40 years worth of travels I ever saw a street sign that said " Drivers making a U Turn have the right of way " on a 6 lane divided street - on South Broadway...that is a heck of a lot busier than Plano's nationally famous "Corner from Hell" at Park & Preston.
I'll be watching this thread with increased interest for a refferal on a place to eat, as we are "trapped" with a necessity to be in Tyler at least once a month...Oh Well.
FWIW the grub at the Blue Store Exxon station down south on Hwy 155 @ 436? in Noonday was everything as good as we'd heard it was, just a little spendy. The cobbler was especially noteworthy too. Ron

+1 on Stanley's. Jucys is good for a burger. Any's frozen custard is a must. Country Tavern for ribs is good. A little bit of a drive but not bad.

Mercados Mexican Resteraunt on the loop is awesome. Stanley's BBQ has some of the best ribs in Texas. Drive over to Chandler and go to Wade's for Crawfish and Shrimp.
You should have been here yesterday!

B.J's, Stanley's, Jules, Many good food places. If you want GOOD sea food drive about 15 min. North to Circle M. in Big Sandy. Rodney has made a lot of improvement's and added two covered patios. Good food and cold beer, at a real fair price. They have a good web page!

To follow up on this. The ribs I had at Stanley's didn't have anything on them (Rosemary ect). Ate at Wade's yesterday, good all the way around. Seen some guys that had mudbugs by the bucket. Even the free beans were good.

Was in Tyler today huntin' antiqes with the BH & In Laws...ate at Ricks downtown across from the Courthouse. Pretty good grub with the shaved rib eye sammitch the BH raved about, my seafood gumbo that had lots of shrimp in it, and some other stuff the IL's had and were pleased with...and this was late in the afternoon when the kitchen was not running wide open for the lunch crowd.
Really hate Tyler traffic but it seemed almost tolerable most of the time, as long as you compare it to Preston Rd in North Plano, Hwy 380 at the Toll Rd in Frisco, or Westhiemer west of the loop ...Just Sayin Ron

Teodora's Enchiladas, Los Gueros, Mexico Lindo, Taqueria Lugar, Villa Montez are all solid choices for mexican food. What about Kabob is a good gyro spot. For a quick lunch burger Jucy's is hard to beat. Loggins is a good lunch buffet option.
