Hi everyone I am new to THF so would just like to say hi. We are based in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and specialize in plains game hunting, hunting an excess of 80 000 acres all over the Eastern cape and offering more than 25 species to hunt. I started up my own company beginning of the year after hunting for other outfitters for several years. Would like to help out with any questions that anyone has regardings South Africa and hunting here. Also would like to get some wishlist from everyone planning trips to South Africa, we do tailor made hunting packages, so we can offer everyone what they want at affordable prices. Will be posting some package deals soon. Have a look at our website www.ljhuntingsafaris.co.zaHope to hear from everyone. Juan

I've hunted the Eastern Cape twice with Frank Bowker's Thorn Kloof Safaris. It's a pretty nice area to hunt. Malaria free and a lot of different types of game available. Last time I was there was about 1999 or 2000 (can't remember exactly) and if your trophy fees are representative of the area it looks like they have increased about 50% which isn't bad considering the number of years that have passed.
This may be a good deal for someone looking for these species, most of which I already have.

Hi Flags. Can't agree more the Eastern Cape is very nice to hunt. Hope you enjoyed your safaris down here have to say the malaria free does help. Also the trophy quality is amazing I think prices should be very good at this stage so many very good outfitters competing and with all the game breeding going on lots of animals available. So you have shot most of the Eastern Cape species in your two hunts, if you were here last in 2000 its about time for a third visit to the Eastern Cape.

That Eland is a beast. It would hurt to leave 800-900 pounds of Eland meat there but that's how it goes. Thanks for sharing your photos. Elk

Those are some nice animals. Shooting a Vaal rhebok in one day is quite lucky so even though it isn't a monster its still a good hunt and fornit to brake a horn and all probably a hunt to remember. Really nice thanks for sharing those photos.
