Hey y'all, any recommendations for easiest way to sell 20+ firearms? I'm a disabled vet and severe chronic back pain won't allow me to go through the hassle involved to list, sell, travel or ship each gun individually to multiple people. Anyone know of maybe a reputable dealer who would come to my house and buy the entire collection? I'm hesitant to turn them all over for consignment sale but might have to be an option if I can't sell them all outright.
Such a thing as a Gun Garage Sale? Lol
Thanks!

Depends on how much you want for them

If you want top dollar it will not be easy.

Depending on value, you may be able to find someone to buy all of them, but you won't get absolute top dollar

If you just want to get rid of them sell them to a gun store, although someone on here would buy quickly for the amount they usually offer

If I had that many I'd likely buy a table at a gun show and spend the day talking to people. Price them 10-20% below value and you'll probably sell them all in a matter of hours. Sell the few remaining to one of the other vendors at the end of the day. You'd come out way ahead of selling them for 1/2 to a gun store.

I'd recommend QuitShootin's idea. There happens to be a show at Lewisville this weekend. Earl

Thanks guys, yeah thought of the table at gun show idea but that's a no-go in my current condition. Good idea tho.

Post them up on here, at least a list of them with prices, I'm sure we could get a THF express to help you out.

First off, sorry to hear about your situation. I do hope it gets better for you.

You could do a post in the trading post listing them with local pickup only and no trades. Research gunbroker sold auctions for starting prices.

There are shops that will sell on consignment and likely a dealer or two on the forum that could do this. And most dealers can offer to buy an entire collection, but just like the reality show "american pickers" do understand it is their livelihood and they must make a profit.

Forum member sig226fan (Rguns.com) with a shop near Wolfe city would be one to check with.

All good ideas, I've thought of this too. I would try to find each on gun broker, get an idea of their worth. BTW Gun broker is always high. Most gun shops will offer about 50% of what they are worth.

post them here, we could help give you value. I'm always ready to buy if you have something I want.

The question is what do you have...

I have seen collections that sell quickly and ones that sell slowly

Just because it's old doesn't mean it's collectible

When researching prices on gunbroker and other auction and gun classified sites, only take in the completed auction and SOLD prices for firearms in similar condition. The average for sale prices are indeed high on those sites. Some are relisted on those sites for years waiting for a buyer or a sucker. For Sale prices mean nothing, but an average of Sold prices will give you a good idea of the current nationwide resell value.

All good advice. I buy from gun broker but only sweet deals of course. Their "watch item" allows you to monitor through the sale and will save them for a period. Maybe 60 days? I would have to verify on my account.

Don't let them go for cheap!! As stated stay with THF if that's an option. Many of us would be happy to help.

I'm in Royse City also. Let me know if I can be of any help. I don't have any great suggestions though. My opinion is to list them all on here for a reasonable price and you could probably get the most $ that way. Have folks come to your house for the purchase.

If you want to get rid of all of them for cash now, you can take them up to a gun store, but you're definitely going to only get about half what they're worth. You could do consignment at Ammo Depot in Caddo Mills. I've had good luck with that. But you'll be doing good to get about 75% of the real value and it will take time.

I buy lots of guns. Shoot me a pm with what you've got if you like.

With that said its real easy to sell guns on here. Good folks. Most people would come to you. Fooling with consignment may be more trouble then it's worth for 20 guns.

One suggestion is to find a young, trustworthy gentlemen, (on here we have many) that would be willing to put in the time to categorize the lot, estimate the value, and find the best avenue for max profit. for payment, give him his gun.

The easiest way to sell them all is to get bids from dealers or to sell them all to Cabelas. That said, you'll be selling for about 50% of retail value, so "easiest" is least profitable. So ... my recommendation is to get an approximate value of each item and list them on the classifieds here. If it makes sense restrict the sale to local, face to face, etc.. whatever suits you best. Cut the price $25/week until the item item sells. Don't rush, but accept reasonable offers.

You won't make top dollar, but you'll do far better than selling the collection as a whole.

Btw, the dealers aren't rip-off artists. They have to front money and are responsible for any hidden and later discovered flaws, etc., and they truly do serve a useful purpose. It's impossible for them to offer you near retail and survive; but that's the way of the world.

Hey y'all, sure appreciate the helpful inputs! After mulling options, I think I've decided to try and list maybe
just a few at a time as I can with local pickup only as suggested. Here is a possible list as starting point and I'll start working on getting together as I'm able and get them posted in classifieds in the coming weeks. Again, sure appreciate the support!

Jigo, there is a place in Dallas near SMU called Jackson Arms. I think they could help value your guns. I really doubt many of us here are experts on what you have.

I would be hesitant having strangers coming to the house buying guns. Even if they are buyers of some they would know where the rest are.

Appreciate that sir, I've been buying, selling, trading guns for a long time and these are all from my own collection so I've got a good idea on the ballpark values. Thanks for the info tho!

I do face-to-face deals at the local Cabela's parking lot. The area has a high LEO presence and there are tons of CHL holders in the area. All in all, it's a bad place to be an idiot crook.
