I already have a 10.5 in SBR in 6.8SPC and it shoots very nicely to 200 which is furthest I've tried with it using Aimpoint PRO. I have a Spikes crusader lower I just put together with a CMC curved trigger and I have a LWRC stripped upper so yesterday I went ahead and bought a 16 in ARP scout profile melonite barrel and a 15 inch YHM Freeflot key mod handguard. Hope to have it all put together next week when the parts arrive. Plan to use it on hogs and predators between 100-400 yds but primarily 100-200. Prob kill a couple does with it this year as well. Not sure on the glass yet but I'll prob throw my strike eagle on it for now and then probably end up with a Vortex PST not sure which one yet but nothing too crazy.

Great looking rifle and love the 6.8! Keep us posted on how she shoots. got it bore sighted and was gonna go shoot today but it's raining pretty hard and steady all day so far and the local range I use is close due to flooding. Hope to shoot it this weekend.

Great build! I'm building a very similar rifle in 6.8 with that exact same lower. Can't wait to see what it does at the range.

Very nice! I sold my rock barrlled remington 700 .308 because it did not get used after i built my 12.5" sbr using a Arp barrel. I sold my novseke 8.5" blackout barrel after seeing just what the 6.8 can do! Love the 6.8! Another major thing i did was installing a adjustable gas block on it also. I call it major because it took the recoil down to zilch just about for extremely fast follow up shot on them marauding Groups of hogs. I was using a h2 buffer and extra power spring, then after installing the adjustable gas block went back to factory stuff and have it sipping on minimal gas being suppressed.

Very interested to hear your take on the flat trigger, going to need a full report.

Just left the range I'll give a trigger review when I get home and after I eat lunch. New AR in 6.8 shoots great and very accurate with the Hornady 110 BTHP. Didn't get any pics of the groups bc it was so muddy but shoots very nice.

Very interested to hear your take on the flat trigger, going to need a full report. I liked the flat trigger but there isn't much difference in the feel since they have the same trigger pull weight and reset. I did like the little angled piece at the bottom of the flat trigger, it allows you to have a firm hold and its easy to get your finger in the same position each time. I think the fact that after about 10-15 shots I didn't even have to pay the trigger any attention makes it a good trigger to me. Its one less thing to have to focus on when you are already focused on sight picture, breathing, steady position, the trigger pull was the easy part. I also feel like it was easier to pull the trigger straight back without it trying to pull left or right if that makes sense. All in all I like it but to me there isn't a whole lot of difference between flat and curved other then shape. Id be happy with either CMC on any of my ARs.

What gas block did you use? Not sure about huntandfish but I used a Superlative Arms adjustable bleed off system gas block on my 6.8 SBR and really liked it. It helped tremendously with the recoil.

Got to stretch the new 6.8 out this weekend. Was shooting steel out to 500 using a 1-4 SWFA scope beyond 500 was a little hard to see but it's possible for sure. My last 4 shots a hit the 500 4 times in about 10 seconds. Also killed a pig at around 200 yds. Good times and it feels good to see something you build from scratch with the exact parts you want perform very well.
