I have had one since they were first released in the synthetic stock black barrel... The one I have seems to be extremely inaccurate, is this how they all are? Has anyone changed the stock out and had it perform better? Mine will not get within a 3-4" gap... it will shoot 2 within an inch and then throw 2 3-4 inches out there...

Is your barrel free floated? If not, free float it and bed the action and I'll bet it gets better.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

The early Savages had a lot of issues. I currently have a Savage Bmag Target model. 22 inch heavy SS barrel, laminated Boyd's thumbhole stock, barrel is free floated. Looks like this (sorry don't have any of my own pics currently loaded): It shoots sub-moa 5 shot groups at 100 yards consistently using either 20 or 25 grain ammo.
