Looking at the Xcel and the Unico for trap, skeet, clays and some upland hunting. Wanting a light shooting semi that will cycle light loads so my wife can shoot it. Looking at 12 GA primarily. Anybody have much experience with either one of these?

I don't, but I wish I did. My Beretta Extrema isn't the most fun on the skeet or trap range

MDMORROW, never have shot either one myself. but, I have a AL 390 Siler Mallard that I shoot a LOT of skeet with. Have never had a problem with any loads(and I'm cheap and buy a lot of what is on sale when we shoot skeet) but a few other guys that have some way more expensive guns do have some trouble with same loads. I might just be lucky with them confused2 Good luck with your search!!!

Well I was all set to buy one at Cabela's today but I couldn't for the life of me get anyone to help me. Second day in a row that I couldn't get any help at the gun counter. Frustrating.

Yep I had a employee pricing coupon I was going to use. Got fed up and gave to some fellow that was standing there and got on out.

I have an A400 Xplor Unico and love it. Eats everything you feed it from Turkey loads to skeet loads and cycles perfectly. Well balanced and accurate. Hopefully it will be the last Shotgun I ever buy.

Have the Xcel & it cycles the light loads.
Probably have better luck with these guys.
Get exactly what you want not what they have.

Does the employee pricing apply to firearms? I didn't think it did?

Uncle's A400 Xplor with kickoff is one of the best shotguns I've ever used/hunted with.

I've been shooting one for last couple years. Light or heavy loads no problems

They told me it did at the service desk. Could never confirm the discount though cause I couldn't get anyone to help me at the gun counter.

I have a 20 gauge A400 XPlor that handles like a dream and will shoot every time you pull the trigger if you will clean it thoroughly about every two boxes of shells. I don't know if I just got a lemon or what but it is the most unreliable shotgun I ever owned.

Shot at the JL Bar on Saturday and a guy I shot with had the Xcel. Sure seemed to shoot well. He said he has shot most everything for sporting clays in his 70 years and claimed the a400 did as good as anything.
