The first Nilgai I ever saw was mounted on a wall in the house of one of my fathers friends. I was 8 years old. I said "What is that thing?" Our friend then told me what it was, how tough it was and how rewarding it was to hunt an animal of that size. I said "I want one!" 32 years later I finally harvested my first blue bull, but the real trophy was that after all these years, my father was able to go on the hunt with me. If you still have your father to hunt with, cherish those moments. Mine is 63 and we have hunted together for 34 years. I don't know when our last hunt will be, but I know that after all this time I am blessed to still be able to call him my hunting partner.
