It's a lot like a cobbler except so much more simple. You can google thr rcipe. I like to use any fruit that is in or what I have on hand. This time my neighbors peaches are in and I had some dewberry preserves on hand. I stewed some peaches with the preserves to make my second layer of fruit. Here you go. The recipe calls for a 9 by 12 inch Pyrex pan but I use two Pyrex pie pans. I'll freeze one after its done. They are ready to pop into the oven. For around 35 minutes. I'll have a piece of the dump cake with vanilla ice cream for my morning snack.

... it was hiding behind the other fruit ... DOH! I do this a couple different nights on our mission trip to the Pacific Northwest, using different fruits but we have found we will pack our canned fruit pie filling & crushed pineapple in a suitcase and take with us, since it's $6-8 per can up there

I made dump cake/cobblers often in boy scouts and still do sometimes now when camping or on hunting road trips. In all my years I have never made one in the oven. I just don't cook much at home and if I do make a dump cake at home, I still just break out the dutch oven and make it on the patio with some hardwood coals shoveled from the outdoor fire pit or from charcoal heated up in a chimney starter. There is no end to the variations of a dump cobbler. While standing around the campfire or fire pit for one to finish cooking, it is always a good moment for friendly debate among friends over what the best version is.

We do these fairly regular in dutch ovens while scout camping. One of the perks of staying involved with our scout troop even after my son got his Eagle and aged out.

Very similar but I add a layer of coconut under the nuts...adds a crunch and natural sweetness.
