I know PSA is running a sale like normal. I have a billet lower I bought 5 years ago going to waste in a buddies safe. Has a lower parts group in it also. Nothing else so I'm looking for a complete upper non m4 style. Something with a decent barrel length. I c a lot of people running 16in being the norm from what I gather also.
Also would a 6.8 fit in the 15 lower? I know a 300 BO will. Won't b shooting no more then 200 yds with it or probably collect dust like my Ruger Precison Rifle is right now

A 6.8 upper will fit your lower. 16" in 5.56 or 6.8 would work great.

There's around 75 different calibers that will work with an AR15 lower from a .17 HMR to a .50 BMG (non-semiauto). 6.8 will work.

I can't tell if that is exaggeration of for real so I'll just ask, is there really a 17hmr upper? That would be awesome! Mudd, This thread will be the most useful to you if you lost a budget. Otherwise the suggestions will vary in price range. I think Daniel defense uppers are the bee's knees but they're also like 2-3 times the price of a Psa upper.

If you want cheap than stick with 5.56. AR variants are going to be more expensive.

Suggest getting a billet upper (same brand) to match your lower and would only set you back another $75.
If you just want it to go bang, any PSA kit will suffice. If you want a bit more accuracy then you can step up to a bit better barrel in 223 Wylde (multiple choices). If going 6.8 suggest going with ARP barrel. 6.8 is my favorite and only things unique from 223/556 is the barrel, bolt and magazines.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Some good info here so far. If you are looking for just something to plink and play with buy a complete upper in 5.56 from PSA or someone like that. If you are looking for better quality and a 6.8 then take a look at my website. They aren't the cheapest because I don't want to sell cheap stuff. I'm also not the most expensive. I use quality parts like AR Performance, SLR Rifleworks, Aero Preceision and a few others. Good luck with you purchase and get what best suits your needs.

With the 300 blackout, you can use your lower, mags and bolt. You will need new mags, bolt for 6.8
I did a lot of research and went with the 6.8 spc

So I think I got a Sabre defense lower in which case sucks cause I can't find a billet upper since they aren't around anymore. But said if he can't locate my lower to just pay the price for this upper and build this out http://2a-arms.com/collections/receivers/products/balios-lite

I think psa has some of the best barrels personally. If it's a true psa I believe most of them are fn barrels. Their cheaper ptac and freedom line who knows what kind of barrels those have. I would steer you towards psa or Anderson.
