Last weekend we spent some time at the father in law's deer lease in Llano. The purpose of the trip was to spend time with the in-laws and look at the wild flowers. I had recently purchased a new toy and I figured I'd do some plinking while I was up there. One morning I go for a little walk with my rifle, didn't see much so I decided to come back and lay down. I had fallen asleep for 30 mins when my FIL comes a knocking on the door. He tells me that there are 5 piglets 100 yards away at the cabin feeder. I look out and see these small little creatures that aren't even taller than the grass. I grab the ak-47 and start making my way closer to them. At about 50 yards I stop and start shooting. These little things were moving so quickly and it was difficult to see them because they were so short. The rifle only has iron sights which made it even more difficult. I was able to connect with two of the five. Not too shabby for tiny moving targets at 50 yards with iron sights. Needless to say I went out and purchased a red dot as soon as I got home.

I forgot to mention that the weekend before a big sow was taken from the same feeder. I waited for 5 minutes for momma to show but she never did. I think the mom was shot the week before. We also got word a few days ago that the 3 piglets that I didn't hit were taken at the same feeder. Without mom they were most likely hanging out in the area.
