I'm thinking about a bipod for hunting, I have Harris swivels that are 6 x 9? I'm thinking a longer leg length where you could sit or kneel. The area's is not conducive to prone. What do you think?

for years I have had the Harris 12x27. Never shot a thing with it. It seems to be the wrong height for ever thing.

For that length have you considered a Primos Trigger stick? I found my Harris to be way to wobbly and cumbersome to work at those lengths.

6 x 9 is what I use also (swivel). Anything taller gets pretty shaky IMO. A good adjustable shooting stick might be the ticket.

I suppose it depends on your intended use. When I was Coyote calling (back in the day) I could shoot pretty accurately out to about 300 yds. resting my elbow on top of my knee and using a good sling. Pull the rifle in tight. Most shots were well under 200 yds, in fact many were 150 or less.

Just a thought.

Some guys are using heavy duty tripods with a special setup for the fore end.

I would 2nd the Primos Trigger Stick tripod. Height adjustments are done in a flash and it is fairly stable. I've taken an elk and aoudad both around 370 yards...would not have even tried without the trigger stick.

thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I'll look into the Primos Trigger stick tall bipod. I'm wanting something light and easy to deploy when in the field. The grass gets to an easy 18" height.

I have a reapers rest and I can drop it down like Humble Pie's pic but it's too cumbersome and gets kinda heavy for long days walking.

I've tried them all and highly recommend the BogPod. Light weight and super stable with 3 adjustable legs for sitting to standing.
