Has anyone played with the H&R handi rifle in .300blkout. I'm referring to the variant that is already threaded for a can...

I've seen them and they're pretty handy. On the other hand, unless I had a lot of blackout ammo laying around, I'd buy a 308, 30-06 or 30-30, cut the barrel off, and have it threaded. Subsonic ballistics will be the same, while supersonic loads will greatly outperform the blackout.

I already have a .30cal titanium can and I am wanting a dedicated blackout sub gun. I wasn't real impressed with it at supersonic speeds. I thought about going the Remington 700 SPS (I think that's what it was) in .300 blackout, but not sure I want to sink that kind of money into it. This will be strictly for hogs and plinking around camp. I have a quite a bit of the subsonic ammo laying around too...lol

In that case, go for it!

I've had a few handi-rifles over the years, and they've all been accurate and reliable.

A buddy of mine has the 300BLK Handi Rifle.
Even with a 'can on it, it is still a fairly compact package.

He had to send it in for repair.
It was having issues setting off a primer.

After that, it has been a great little shooter.

I think that I'm going to go ahead and get one. Before I even shoot it I'm going to have it Cerakoted though...

I have one and use it all the time. It has never seen a factory bullet. It shoots 110 vmax all the way to 220 round nose very well. Subsonic suppressed is amazing. I did have problems every now and then with failure to fire. I switched from small rifle mag primers to small pistol mag primers. I have not had a problem since. The reason I got the blackout is because I have a ruger 77/357. They both use h110 powder. For the blackout, I use h110 from 110 grains all the way to 220. Now I have to calibers that use the same powder and primers. My 2 girls love shooting it as well. No recoil. They are 4 and 6 years old. And believe it or not, mine will shoot 1.5 moa all day. Just make sure to keep the chamber oiled when not in use. It will start rusting fairly quick.

I was checking out Handi Rifles online today. Thought about getting one in 7mm 08. I came across an article from 2015 that said Handi Rifle was no more. Is it old stock or was the article wrong?

I believe that is correct. I know they cancelled the extra barrel program.
