We have killed several foxes on our place and we believe there is a bobcat or several cats on the place and I have yet to call one in. I only call during the day and I use a foxpro. Anyone on here use a foxpro and recommend any tunes to use specifically that they have success with on bobcat?

Bobcat calling during the day is tough. Alot of the times they'll come in and you'll never see them. Make sure and use a decoy to get their attention and bring the cats out of the brush. It's much much easier to see their eyes at night. Rabbit distress, baby rabbit distress, bird sounds.

I have called several in early in the morning and late evening. Make sure watching had one cat slip in never knew he was there til I saw him move his head. He had this look on his face like what the hell is going on here. Cats take there time coming in, so you need to call for longer period of time.

Do you just leave the sound going for 2-3 minutes at a time with 30-45 second pause? Thats is wjat I typically have been doing or do you just leave it non stop on?

Let it play continuously. If your targeting a cat let it play 45 minutes. Some will show up under 10 minutes some will take their time. Cat calling is more luck than anything. You have to have a cat thats within a few hundred yards and he has to be in the mood to come to the call. We literally make several hundred stands a year and are lucky to see 7 or 8 cats a year. Out of those 7 or 8, only 5 or so will give you a shot opportunity.

I thing a lot of the time people miss seeing them, because they are so slow to come in

I use a primos but call continuously. I use a rabbit most of the time and see a bunch. But I have called them in with a field mouse before.

folks call a lot more bobcats than they actually see both at night and in the daytime. Since I rarely call from a high rack at night I usually have to make a short walk either heading to vehicle or sometimes to make another stand a short distance away. Many times I have made only a few steps and see eyes coming or sitting watching from back in the brush or behind me and it's almost always a Bobcat that hung up and was just curious enough to see what was going on.
Also you will call just as many during the day as at night you just see more at night because their eyes give them away. About 3 years ago I kept a close log on how many Bobcats I called one season and I was surprised out 38 killed and 8 more that were passed on it was almost exactly equal numbers between day and night.

Which rabbit calls give you the best turnout?

I have had my best luck using either baby cottontail in distress, or baby woodpecker..And like the others, I call constantly for a minimum of 30 minutes, but may change the sound level if I think it needs to be changed. Usually start out softer and progress louder for range until one shows.

I have tried a few times when I had a cat in, (often they will hang up on the edge of brush, or whatever there is) and when we cut the sound off, they would look away and quickly loose interest. My experience is they tend to hang around much longer than a yote, if you can keep their intret up.

Also, seems they handle the fringe of the spot light better than the full beam as well, but we used a 500k-1million candle q-beam with red lens cover back then. Smaller candle light may make less impact on them IDK.

I have the best luck in the evening and using Woodpecker in distress or other birds in distress. Their attention span seems to be short where I hunt so if I see they look like they are going to take off I change to a different sound. They definitely take a lot longer than a coyote. I have to get it in my head that if a coyote comes out within first few minutes of calling that I am going to pass it up.

They usually take a long time to come in.
They are usually very cautions but like the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat.
If they get fixated on a decoy, they can sometimes seem to be incredibly stupid.
I use a few feathers tied on a string hanging from some brush or tree limbs by your speaker that can blow in the wind.
I've had a few walk right by me while stalking and looking straight at the decoy.
