Anyone ever put a new recoil pad on a older Finn Bear? I have a 300WM that needs a new pad on it, the one on it is like a concrete pad. Any idea where I might find an Sako red like the one on it?

Pachmayr might be the only one that comes to mind offering a "red" colored pad.

I think the Pachmayr F325 with the black line spacer looks pretty close to factory especially for a gun you plan on shooting and not a collector piece.

As a friendly "do as I say, not as I do" protect your stock with lots of masking tape when you're swapping pads. That factory black spacer is glued on and is a bear (pun intended) to remove. Learn from my experience and use caution.. if not you have a gash on your stock and no cool story to go with it.

I'd have a gunsmith replace the pad on a nice gun like that.

Kind regards, charlesb

Larry Pockrus in Ponder has installed two grind to fit pads for me. He charged $45.00 apiece, I supplied the pads. The last one was a red Pachmayr, I like the way it looks.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
