Finally got my thousand yard range set up yesterday nothing fancy but it works . I can shoot from 100-1000 and beyond when I get my confidence built up. Before yesterday I have never shot past 500 so I just went for all the glory and started at 1000 and after five shots to get my scope doped and the wind right I hit the 2ft.x 2ft. target five out of the next eight. The Tikka is making it pretty easy. With the nice trigger and smooth action its hard to beat. I did realize a 12 power scope is not enough I can see the target fine but can't tell were the bullet impacts are so next up is a new scope.

It's a Tikka CTR 260 and I was shooting 123 grain Sierra match kings over 39 grains of imr 4064 and Lapua brass loaded at 2.885 . I've got some 140 Eld but I haven't had chance to do much development with them . I tried 42 grains of h-4350 and they shot about1/2" but I need to see if I can go hotter and maintain accuracy.

No sir. I'm trying to sell a couple of things to get the cash together. I hope to have the Burris soon.

In all seriousness I do have a nice MOA /MOA Leupold Mark 4 for sale if you know anyone that swings that way.

Do you think the Burris is better than the Bushy 3-21?

ERS 3.5-21X, that the one you're talking about? If so, no, the Bushnell has better glass, and locking turrets. As far as features, the Burris has maybe the most in the market.

Congratulations on setting up a 1000 yd. range. I'd be out there at every opportunity. I agree re. Tikka rifles. I sold one to a friend in .243 for his son. Maybe not the smartest move I have ever made but I thought his boy needed a good very accurate deer rifle. texas cowboy
