How many panels do you have around the feeder? Started using 8 but have increased it to 10. This one is smaller and I am embarrassed to tell the story but too good not to tell. I drive a stake under the feeder, loop my rope around the stake and have a knot at the correct distance for the circle radius. That gives me an anchor point as I work my way around the circle. We built this one back when it hadn't rained in ages and the ground was like granite. This old man would pound awhile and rest awhile, get back in the truck, cool off and then pound some more. About 2/3 through the pounding, wiped the sweat out of my eyes and something didn't look right. I had more panels than I had opening left. Turned out that I picked up the wrong rope. It had had a knot close to the right place...close enough that I didn't catch the mistake. Wasn't about to tear it out and rebuild in that heat. Did a little angle adjustment and just closed it off. I am the proud owner of the only "7 panel" feeder pen in the county.

I am the proud owner of the only "7 panel" feeder pen in the county. I thought I only had 10 panels, so I got my neighbors son and paid him to build the pen with 10 panels. After him and his buddy were done he says to me, you got two left what do you want to do with them My bad Well I have two spares just in case!

Right knot, wrong knot still worked out well. PS. I do stuff like that all the time. I built a log cabin once and while doing the rough in plumbing, kept repeating "hot left, cold right" about a hundred times when I finished, well sure enough I had a hot water toilet! Sorry for diverting from the topic.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.
