What is a monkey biscuit?

Well not necessarily poison. Coons supposedly can't digest them, and it kills them. I've heard it works from some folks, heard it doesn't make much of a difference from others. There's only one way to find out. But it check and make sure it's legal.

Actual monkey food. The feedstore claims they are almost pure fiber and that coons cannot digest them so it kills them. We'll know if they work once my frined pulls his next game cam pics.

Not supposed to be harmful to anything else- deer possums etc.

I'm just wondering where you find them. When I raised a baby squirrel several years ago that was one of the foods I was trying to find and all the pets stores looked at me like I was an idiot when I told them I needed monkey biscuits. LOL

I'm interested in where to find them also.

There used to be an aids monkey farm in San Antonio

feedstore in Hamilton is where I found them.

I think Browns Feed in Lampasas used to have them called monkey chow. Heard coke and dcon work
real good to but you don't want to leave it where other animals can get it.

We've found them in at the feed stores in Evant and gatesville

I think they might have given you some bogus information.

The protein content is roughly twice that of shelled corn, the Crude fat about the same and the Fiber content is almost identical to shelled corn.

I've never used it...but I don't see anything in the ingredients that just jumps out at me. I'm not saying it doesn't work...but most of the claims I've found on the internet are "I heard" or "someone said" kind of things.

I'd be happy to use it if anyone has empirical evidence?

This is a wives tale. There is nothing true about monkey biscuits and raccoons.

Golden Malrin fly bait will kill them before they get 20', problem is, it is illegal to use for this. It will kill any animal that eats it, and can also badly hurt, or kill people exposed to it improperly. I used it for flies when we raised Ostriches.

Don't see how a high fiber biscuit could be harder on a coon, compared to some of the stuff they eat.

Somebody trap a few coons, put them in a cage and feed them these monkey biscuits. Set up a video recorder, then share the results with us.

Death from your gut clogged with fiber, I'm not sure even a chicken stealing coon deserves to go that way.

Problem is, Monkey Biscuits have very little 'fiber'. IF they are injurious to Coons at all (and suspect they aren't) it isn't the fiber content.

Generally speaking, 'fiber' (depending upon whether soluble or not) is a good thing.

I have no experience with this food source, so I am waiting for someone with empirical evidence to chime in, but I have a hard time believing they would be harmful to raccoons.

I know a guy who tried and failed. As far as poisoning coons I just don't agree with it. Ring tail cats and other non target species will be killed.
