I recently purchased a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2 that accepts Glock Magazines. ($429.00) The Gen 2 has several improvements over the Gen 1. The polymer encasement has been overhauled, trimmed, and textured. Railed surfaces have been added on the top and bottom of the handguard as well as M-lock slots on the sides. The front sight is metal (previously plastic) and adjustable as well as easily removable. The stock has 3 length adjustments. The rifle unmodified weighs 4.25 lbs.

I made several modifications:

1) Tacticool Buffer Cylinder-Reduce felt recoil up to 30% $9.50
2) Tacticool Bolt Tube Cover- Allows for wider and softer mount against chin. $14.25
3) Red Lion Precision Forend- This is machined forend that indexes so that you can mount scopes and grips and still fold the rifle. $149.00
4) Two full length picatinny rails. $62.00
4) Magpul forgrip. $30.00

The modifications make this gun feel much more solid than stock.

The rifle length is 28 inches open and 15 inches folded. With modifications it weighs just under 6 lbs.

I have experienced no issues shooting 100 rounds of various 9mm ammo. Open sight accuracy is good. I can hit 6 inch steel targets at 75 yards easily. I have yet to install an optic. The rifle disassembles easily for cleaning and lubing. This rifle is very fun to shoot!

That's sweet! I was thinking about buying one for a lightweight pack around gun. Yours looks great!

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

Slick. Is that a factory front sight?

Does the Red Lion product twist/turn?

I have an older one. The face slap is pretty bad. I like your mods. Well done.

Chickenman: That is the stock front sight. The Red Lion product does twist and lock. Thanks for the kind words.

Nice carbine.

I've considered replacing my gen 1 with a gen 2 for the front sight alone. I just haven't seen a gen two with the Sig mag configuration yet.

Thanks okststefan. Yeah, I would have had a Gen 1 if I could have found one in the past few years. These rifles are difficult to find, at least around here.

I had the Gen 1 and got rid of it because I couldn't stand the front plastic sight. However, if the Gen 2 has a steel sight that is a great improvement.

Your little carbine looks sweet.

Thanks Choctaw. The front sight is also threaded on and can easily be removed versus the glue on sight on the earlier version.
