E-filed my Form 1 for a .30 cal suppressor that I'm making w/ a good friend's help who has done 7 or 8 for himself.. Excluding stamp, it should be around $175-$225 in parts, depending on whether I go titanium or steel on a few components..

He's an engineer & found this thread a few years ago to follow as a guide:

https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/169368...2_10_in_OP.html

Will it actually be as good a commercial built can? I have no idea.. I'm guessing it won't.. But he's done several and for the price, I couldn't refuse his offer to help me w/ my first one.. I'll try to keep this thread updated when we start the build.. NFAtracker's graph shows that it should be approved in 90-110 days..

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm looking forward to learning about the process..

I've got a lathe. I need to submit the form and try it myself. Knowing me, it'll not get touched until winter. Then I'll have to go hunt, and the project will not be done until spring, but only when it's too muddy to get out and work. hammer

JG, you have more important projects to complete...like modifying that top rail to swing open! grin

You're right, you're right. Text me every week asking me if it's done. Eventually I'll get so ticked off that I'll take care of it.

There's an old saying that goes something like "never tick off someone who can out shoot you". aim
