I'm wanting to get a directional feeder motor /control unit. Does anybody have experience with them as to what ones will hold up and last the best? Throwing distance?

I purchased my first feeder 9 years ago ( tripod feeder I guessed it's called ) 3 legs a drum and motor.
It came with this exact motor and spinner plate!
I hooked up a $25 solar panel to it and she has been going strong for 9 years and this spring I finally replaced the battery

It runs spring , summer and fall/winter !!!! With no issues.

Imo 3 spins is like 6/7 for most feeders!!!!!!
It spreads it in a 360 degree circle about 8ft out of not further.

I love it so much I replaced the motor on my brand new HB with one and I have an extra just Incase !!!!!
Holds time , never fails and makes good noise at feeding time that drAwls them in.
Here it is

Thank you for your input, I have a standard feeder already. I want a directional feeder to set on a treeline and throw corn into a lane because our deer don't like eating under a feeder
