Anyone's thoughts on reloading for these in Contender 10"barrel. Got a chance to pickup some loaded up 30 Herrett, cut down and sized from 30-30. Once I fire them (Fire formed). What are some recommendations?

30 Herrett is a really good shooting caliber for the 10" Contender. Mine has a generous throat so what works in mine might not work for you. IMR4198 works well for the heavier stuff, 296-H110 works well for the lighter bullets. Pic shows with 130 gr jacketed and 168 gr cast.

Has been a long time since I loaded for that one. The powders Okie44 said were our powders of choice as well. If I were still loading for it for hunting I would have to try the Nosler Long Range accubond 150gr. Plenty of reach to get further than I want to shoot critters with my contender and expands well at the lower velocities
