Now you don't or do you confused2 Can locate where the deer are in the 2nd & 3rd pictures. Made me think about what could be lying down in a field right next to you when walking through one scratch

And there they go.

Much harder to spot them by the third pic, and you are correct - you never know what is watching you eeks333

I have seen a few fawns get cut up, or baled doing that in a hay field. In that instance, their instinct is was gets them killed.

There's 95 acres of johnson grass that typically goes uncut in the winter that borders me. The deer sleep in it during the day. It gets easily tall enough to completely conceal them even when they're standing up or walking.

Last year I was sitting in my tripod right at sundown and it just sounded like a herd of animals was walking all around me, but I couldn't see anything. Finally they broke from the uncut to the cut (my field) and there were 12 does and fawns within 30 yards of me that I hadn't seen or had the slightest clue were there until they came out. Shocked they didn't smell me or run when I was climbing my stand, but I guess they feel pretty safe in that grass.
