how bad are they for $500 just to keep on the lease to get around here and there. No heavy usage.

I know I am comparing apples and oranges, but I bought a cheap Chinese 3600 watt generator a couple of years ago. It is the best tool in my garage. It has cranked quickly every time. It paid for itself 10x over during the Rowlett tornado when I did not have electricity. Never missed a beat. Google the model you are interested in and try to find a couple of reviews on it. I think any one of them would ease you to your stand and back. It is when you start working them under load that will show you where the rubber meets the road.

My teenage grandson has one and it has held up well. You would probably not be as hard on one as he is thus yours would probably last longer. The motor may be the best part of the ATV.

No first hand experience but a guy at work bought two for his two kids. He said they rattled and you could hear them coming and know it was them. Bolts coming loose and with 1.5 years both were parked one wouldnt run, the other wouldnt go

Bought a 100cc for the kids 12-13 yrs ago. Ran well for a good 10 years and they out grew it but it would still get me around the lease up

finally sold it a couple years back.

Quality can be hit or miss, parts can be expensive and difficult to get. I've got a buddy that imported them for a time, he got tired of having to wait so long for parts to get here on the slow boat.

They're a pretty good bet if they don't have to be relied upon.

That was my first thought too. but these guys in traders village in grand prairie have inhouse sale/service/parts. So that got me thinking of just leaving one on the lease and not worry much. My mule at the ranch got stuck and rats chewed down the entire wiring in it. Repair cost was about $600 which could have bought one of these quads.

I bought three Chinese made quads (used) a few years ago for my family. I was happy to have three, because that meant one was always running. The last time I had all three running was the week I sold all three.

Make sure you get all the fuel out if you are storing it at your lease for a while. Also, carbs gunk up quickly with those, or so it seems.

Also, "pay once, cry once" is a good motto in regards to items like this...go for something a little more reliable if you can afford it.

You can buy a smaller Honda, drive for it a few years and sell it again for a few $ less than what you paid for it.

neighbor has 2. I know the first one he bought had tons of carb problems. I think he found a fix because he bought the second one.

Bought one for my son and he rode the piss outta it for a few years. Seemed to do ok when he was riding it weekly, but starting having issues after sitting up for any length of time.

I consider it $900 well spent for a few years of enjoyment

Have 2, the motor always starts on both unless you fail to start for a while. I think it is the ethanol in the fuel.
