Hello,

I was shopping for rifle scopes online. I found what I thought I wanted, the reticle I like, the approximate magnification range, within my price range, features, ect. What caused me to tap the breaks was that the spec page said the eye relief was 2.8-3.1". That's relatively short. I searched for online reviews and this scope gets rave reviews. No one mentioned the short eye relief being a problem but based on the pictures, most were testing it on an AR rifle. I was thinking of putting it on a bolt gun in 7mm Rem mag. I was thinking 3.5" of eye relief should be the minimum. I've never had a scope with less than that. I'm I worrying too much? Will it be ok?

ARs have very little kick at least most do so I can see why short eye relief would be no problem but with a 7mag I might be worried about getting some scope to the eye if not careful.

Eye relief and low light clarity is my primary focus what I look for in a scope. I like 3.5" - 4" with 3.5" being the absolute bare minimum. If I were you I'd be looking around for a different scope then.. Eye relief of only 3.1" at max is very short in my opinion and it sitting on a 7mag, it'll probably end up kissing you a couple times. smile

I'm surprised they still make scopes with that little eye relief. I don't know what to get.

...the right tool, for the right job. Since the AR platform is the most popular right now, you have to expect manufactures to build products designed for it
