Kinda new to shotguns, especially 20 gauges, but what size shells can 20 gauge shotguns shoot safely? 3", 2 3/4?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A 20ga Magnum with a 3" chamber will shoot any 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells.

Look at the barrel and see what shells it will accept. Not all will accept 3 inch shells.

Yup, but I think if it's marked "magnum" it should be a 3" chamber. Definitely check your barrel and it will tell you.
