Has anyone had a chance to play with one of these yet?

Had a customer out for the class shooting one in 6.5 Creedmoor. It did a great job all day long. I would own one, without hesitation. He ended the day shooting 1 MOA steel 500-800 yards. So a 5" square at 500, 6" square at 600, and so on.

I'm interested in a 308 one. Wonder how far it'll take you

You'll learn to read wind and have a great barrel life. But the 6.5 Creedmoor can maintain supersonic farther than the .308. If what you're wanting is to go outside 1000 yards.

The new Savage Stealth looks pretty nice . It's a smaller version of the 110 BA . I would still rather have a CTR .

They have pretty rave reviews. Had I not gone the custom route I may have considered one.

Anyone know what the MSRP on the stealth is supposed to be.

We had one brought in to change the barrel, was 308, left as a Creedmoor. It was well made, everything fit well, descent trigger ( on a Ruger!).
However the barrel lock nut was extremely tight, it did not come off like the videos. Was tight enough we sprung one AR wrench. The replacement barrel manufacture said, "Yea, a lot of them are like that."
After getting it loose the swap was a 10 minute job, mostly putting the fore end parts together.

So be forewarned!

Will a large frame AR barrel drop in or does it use a special barrel.

The threads are real long to accommodate the lock nut. So an AR 10 size barrel is no good.
I do not know the diameter and thread pitch off the top of my head.

My brother has been working with his newly acquired 6.5 'Creed'.

We have worked up several loads for it, but it really likes the Hornady 143 gr. ELD-X on top of RE-17.

8" gong at 1,000 yds. is very doable depending upon the wind.

I've been reading up on them and been wanting one. Seems most dealers are charging a lot when they get them in stock. I have seen several people change the stock, change the rails, change the barrel, and then hope someone comes out with a trigger for it. At that point, they've spent a lot of money on the rifle and there's not much original left. They could have just gone with a custom rifle for a little more money and gotten a more accurate gun.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I find the factory stock to be 'serviceable', plenty of adjustment in it. Some folks swap out for a Magpul PRS.

The trigger is good, but not great. The rest of the rifle...I wouldn't change. If my Brother's rifle is representative of the potential accuracy, then I would say the rifle is a pretty good value.

You'll quickly discover the rifle is a deceptively heavy piece. To look at it...you wouldn't expect the 'heft' you feel...once in hand. Of course, its not a rifle designed to be toted around, but I was quite surprised the first time I picked it up.

Add a NightForce and Suppressor to it...and it weighs more than my heavy barreled .458 SOCOM.

But, that is an advantage on the bench. It is very pleasant to shoot.

I'm interested in trying the Vanguard Modular Chassis rifle.

Well I picked one up in 308 this morning. Just got to get the rings and get my vortex viper mounted. I figured if I ever wanted I can switch out the barrel for a 6.5.

Only .308 or .223, one forward stud, not threaded? Who does their marketing research? Bet it shoots, though.

I wonder that about many companies.

I just like the Vanguard platform better than the Ruger. You are right in your observation though.
