Here's my "budget build" 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. So far I'm happy with how its shooting, although I've barely had any rounds through it. Originally I was dead set on a Manners or Mcmillan stock but after the ease of drop-in ability and accuracy with the KRG, thinking I'll just leave it as is. Not even sure I'm desperate to paint it either.

Remington 700 action (basic truing by Krieger)
Krieger M24 24" barrel
KRG Whiskey 3 chassis
Seekins base
Seekins rings
Timney trigger
Vortex PST 6-24 FFP

Man that's a LASER !!! I wouldn't change a thing....well on second thought I would coat it but you have plenty of time for that !!!

That chassis is really great looking. Great thing about a custom rig, you don't have to do much load testing, everything shoots great !!!

I was dead set on painting the barrel and receiver because I thought it would drive my OCD. But the stainless barrel and blued receiver doesnt bother me for some reason. I suppose my OCD is more focused on not ruining a good thing by disassembling the rifle, painting and then reassembling smile

Holler when you want to come stretch it out. It's looks like a very consistent shooter.

Will do. Still have the Nightforce SHV FFP that you can test out at same time.

LOL, outside of the chassis there's not much I could have done to cut cost without significantly cutting quality. Most of the parts are bare minimum quality (timney 510, Vortex PST, factory action, harris bipod). Only reason I went with Whiskey 3 over Xray was aluminum vs plastic and rifle balance.

Nice. Your budget aint far from mine.

BTW, not sure you barrel contour but Magpul told me the stock wouldnt fit a M24 barrel.

I think you may be ok. Here's the exact response I got from Tech Support at Magpul:

Thank you for contacting us. The Hunter 700 stock will fit Any factory Remington 700 barrel as well as medium Palma, With some of the larger barrels they will have contact with the Barrel tray. You should be able to get a heavy Varmint to fit,but not the M24 and MTU.
