Last week I had the privilege of hosting a 14 year old young man, Jim Yanez of Round Rock, who has leukemia, on his dream hunt for a scimitar horned oryx on behalf of the Texas Outdoor CHILD charity. Travis Buell of Harper worked with Brian Gilroy who owns the 5G ranch near Mountain Home to make the hunt happen. Cam French, ranch foreman and head dishwasher at the 5G was Jim's guide. We decided to move the hunt up to Thursday and Friday in order to miss the rain. Man was that ever a great decision.
