Turkeys would not cross the fence, so I went hunting something else.

Went looking for arrowheads. Found this Bola. Its a little rough but only the fourth one ive ever found. A good day smile

I/ve never seen one that was as rough as this one, but I'm sure no expert. I do dig the heck out of arrowheads and stuff though. I've been finding a lot of shark's teeth.....but no points. And a bunch of fossils.

Mmmm Hmmm

Cool Waco sinker. I'll have to dig mine out and post a pic of them. I've only found a dozen or so in my 20 years of artifact hunting.

Hard to know if a Waco Sinker or Bola Stone.

Most sinkers are a bit more oblong and most often 'notched' on the ends rather than grooved about the circumference (though some are).

That sample is pretty rough and the groove appears to be 'pecked'.

Nice find.

I enjoy 'artifact' hunting as much or more than hunting game.

Found every point/blade in this group in a single day of digging in a small camp site on the headwaters of Bull Creek in Austin, Texas, 1975. My Aunt used to own the property.

Congratulations on your find and thanks for sharing.

Pretty cool find. Can't say that I have ever seen one before.
