Went to Riviera Maya for a few days, and was lucky enough to hook up on a couple great fish.

Went to the Dominican just a few weeks ago to try and connect with a Sail Fish, but after a long day, we ended up getting skunked.

Fast forward to this past Friday, had to opportunity to get head out with Cozumel Charters through Ricky Wilson.

Fishing was pretty slow at first, but we stuck with it and were able to connect with a Mahi Mahi and a beatiful Sail Fish. A good buddy of mine brought in the Mahi Mahi, and I was blessed with the chance to reel in the sail fish.

Worked him for just under an hour, and was so exhausted, i nearly lost my lunch after we landed him.

Talk about an experience of a lifetime!!

Hell ya congrats. I was there a few weeks back, I was itching to go off shore but schedule didn't allow it.

I caught a sail fish by accident at the age of 13. We were fishing for king fish and my cousin said first fish is yours since your a guest. Well a few minutes later first fish was on. Didn't take long for him to go airborne and my cousin almost cried. He had been trying to catch a sail fish for over 20 yrs off the Jacksonville coast. We got him in and tried to release him but he went belly up and we took him in filleted him and had the meat smoked. Never knew sailfish was so great to eat.

Congrats on a fish of a lifetime.

Nice gun show....

I caught a sailfish 20 years ago. It set in my garage until this year, a guy gave me 500 bucks for it.

It was a big one.

I always heard they were in edible....
