I currently have a springfield xd mod 2 in 45 acp... while its a great gun, im not in love with it. I have a buddy that has a glock 19 that I absolutely love. while it is larger framed than what I am currently using, it has more capacity and cheaper ammo. what is everyone's real world experience with either, and pros/cons? why would it make any sense for me to switch? or would it?

Full size Glocks do not fit my hand right. I don't like the grip angle, and I hate the finger grooves on the new Gen 4s. I bought an MP40. My next purchase will be a Glock 43, I love that little pistol.

I've owned both and both are good weapons. Comes down to what fits you better. I was not a fan of the high bore axis on the XD or the rear frame rails being polymer, but they've stood the test of time.

In typical Internet forum fashion though I must tell you to get a Beretta 92 because that's my personal preference.

well I have a full size 1911 and that is my owb carry weapon. I like the overall size of the xd, but again, I keep thinking about the glock. I like the 15 round mag and in order to get anywhere close to that, I am making my current carry weapon very heavy.

I've owned a ton of Glocks and several Springfields. I definitely shoot the XD line better than I can shoot a Glock and I carry an XDS. The grip geometry is more natural for me with the XD guns for some reason.

The one you like best. Both are equally reliable and have tons of aftermarket support.

the problem I have at this point is that I own the xd and want the glock.... I either have to find someone to trade with or lose my [censored] on trade in.

Price we pay to play. Go with the one you like best. Might post a classified add for a trade, who knows you might find someone that has the Glock but likes the XD better.

Good luck. If I still had a Glock would trade it for an XD in a heartbeat.

Umm.. Just sell your xd for what it's worth, and use the money to buy the glock you want. It's not that difficult.

I meant to say trade it off. Not trade in. Just saying you usually take a loss on em. But I guess it's worth it for a gun that I like better.

Both great guns and I can shoot each equally well. I have just always been a Glock fan because parts are so much easier to come by if you need them. On top of that the Gen 3's are about as reliable as any gun ever made.

Few things in life you will ever buy new and not lose a dime on it when you go to sell.

Both are great guns. But the other thing that hasn't been address to hear his caliber. Are you wanting to change caliber or would that just be a side effect. Do you want to step down to 9mm or do you want to stay with 45.

That's how I look at it personally. So it sounds like either way you want to get out of that particular gun. Now just decided if you want to go with the SA or the glock. Personally I would go with the glock. After all I have 4 9mm glocks. Probably need to get rid of 1 or 2 myself.

yeah, ive already started looking for other options out there. I want the g19, and whether I trade for it or sell mine and buy one... I am going that route.

Same here. I have the Glock 30 SF that fits better and a Springfield XDSC that is my daily.
