I'm about to assmble an ar upper tomorrow for the first. Bought the new Magpul bev block. I've read a bunch and watched a bunch of assembly YouTube videos.
Any tips or tricks from the experts out there for a first timer?

Don't over torque your barrel nut.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

What Texflip said. If the gas tube hole doesn't line up use the proper shims rather than forcing it and risking damage to the threads. Other than sight taper pins, if used, nothing should require a beating during assembly.

The free float rail I am using has a slim profile so the gas tube does not need to go through the barrel nut so it's not an applicable concern to me but I will for sure watch out the over torquing danger.
Please keep it coming folks.
