I almost never stay out the full day, so I typically just take an apple and a water. When I go on longer hikes, I typically take trail mix, usually make my own with almonds, honey roasted peanuts pecans, dried figs, cherries, blueberries, etc. Also bring along cliff bars and maybe some beef jerky.

Protein bars--try to get the "quietest" wrappers you can find as they make a lot of noise.

I pack the same lunch I take to work, a salami sandwich, a peanut butter and honey sandwich, a pickle and two ice teas. I don't want to eat stuff I am not used to and get an upset stomach. It all is in a small cooler I hook to my day pack on the way to the stand or blind, I don't have to go far.

Jerky, pretzel peanut butter bites, seasame sticks. Water of course unless its an evening hunt. Then its a couple of barley pops and a shot or two.

How about packing a lunch that will produce very little waste/garbage/litter that you have to pack back out?

2 sticks of jerky and a water bottle. Also keep a can of Vienna sausages in my day pack as an emergency snack if I decide to stay longer than planned.

whatever is available to eat and will fit in the pack. However I do love pistachio nuts while sitting in the woods.

PB and J or tuna and a few chips an apple and a water or 2 is the usual

When the corn is gone at my feeders, the animals leave so I go back to camp. Their not coming back around until the feeders go off again in the afternoon. Keep a bottle or two of water in the blinds at all times.

Anyone tried one of these propane coffee makers before? I started sleeping in the blind (pigs at night, deer in day) toward the end of the season and a hot cup of coffee anytime sure would be nice. Uses the same propane cans as the Buddy heaters.

Link to coffee maker

I already carry enough crap to the stand, but this is coffee after all...

I guess the only time I've ever worried about eating while hunting was in the mountains where I would be out walking all day, other than that it was just water. Something about smelling like a Town and Country convenience store just never seemed right. When hunting food/snacks are at the bottom of my list, i'll eat when I get back in.

Right after college, a buddy and I went on a hunt in SE NM. Each day we would make ham sandwiches and bring a 2 liter canteen of water, a bag or 2 of chips and some candy bars. When we'd get to lunch-time, we'd pull out the sandwiches - all mushed up in their ziploc bags. We'd just un-zip them and start squooshing them out the top. We called them ham wads and still do to this day. The chips were all crumbs and the candy bars were smashed flat.
Some of the best meals I've had were that way.

A bloody mary in the morning for breakfast and a 12 pack of coors light the rest of the day gives you about 1400 calories. Not really sure how much more energy you need on top of that.

A can of sardines, bottle of water and a couple of those little "Fun" size Snickers. I never understood what they mean by "Fun" size???? If you are really hunting, you don't want to pack a lot of weight and if the hunting is good, why waste your time eating?
Adios,
Gary
