Viewing the video and not having done a lick of research , I take it the entire mission was filmed at night... My questions are : 1) Anyway to incorporate this into a DIY scope kit? 2) how much is this camera 3) there are moments of light - not sure if that is white light or IR light but I wonder how the system would perform with a T20 IR light 4) what was the setup on the camera , standard looking camcorder with a filming light?

Those guys sure do take their Airsoft serious... I don't see how you can use a SLR-type bodied camera on a rifle. http://www.sony.com/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras/ilce-7sm2The quality of the video is impressive for being shot at night. Charlie

I'm hoping the heart of the SLR can be bought as a separate component , I don't do DIY stuff so I'm hoping some of the experts will weigh in on whether it can be done.
I agree impressive!

A Sony A7sII is a new camera technologyou known as mirror less, and is not a DSLR or DSLT. However, it is a serious camera body that accepts E mount Sony lenses and you can use old Minolta and modern Sony A mount lenses with it. That particular camera body is 2-3000$ and lenses range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Video on modern cameras is so nice, they are used to shoot commercials, movies and TV shows when larger traditional movie cameras are impractical.

That is pretty cool. Why don't they have spotting scopes (at least) using that technology?

3 grand for the body plus an expensive lens. A bit heavy and cumbersome at this point. I'm thinking there is a future for it in hunting as it evolves and the price comes down. Thermal would still have it beat in a lot of scenarios.

That is pretty cool. Why don't they have spotting scopes (at least) using that technology? Right now, it is newly developed proprietary technology from SONY. The big player in cameras is Nikon, then Canon, and then a distant third is SONY. The last 10 years, SONY has been really developing their camera technology in hopes to become a serious player in the camera market. Their Technology is top notch, and NIKON is even using a Sony sensor in some of their DSLR cameras. There lenses are where they are lacking. However, photographers are the biggest "fan boys" in the world, and arcially. The mirrorless camera technology drastically reduces the weight and size of a professional interchangeable lens camera, so I am certain everyone will try to replicate or surpass the technology eventually. Those A7s will even sync with the internet to upload pictures straight to the net. Pro wedding photographers were tired of getting sniped at weddings since everyone has camera phones now. e die hard brand guys. Plus, each brand of camera uses a certain lens mount. So if you have thousands invested in lens for canon, buying a new Sony or Nikon wouldn't be a good move financially. By the way, it isn't really "night vision" the camera just has a SUPER high ISO setting.

Right, not night vision in the traditional sense, but the end result is quite similar in that you can see in very low light. The increase in ISOs has been going on for years. As for proprietary technology, such technologies are possessed by several companies. The ISO of 410k for the A7 is nice, but Canon has one that is 4.5 million. http://petapixel.com/2015/09/13/this-is-iso-4560000-with-canons-crazy-new-camera/Nikon had a version in 2009 that was something like 110k. And dfwroadkill is right in that thermal will still have it beat in a lot of scenarios. Camouflaged animals will still be camouflaged, LOL.

Sony will find some way to kill the technology.
