Just got this from Remington:
Pig hunters will squeal over Remington’s new Hog Hammer 000 Buck (1,325 fps) and 7/8 Slug (1,750 fps). The 000 Buck is interesting as it contains high antimony lead shot that’s copper plated, which shows well over 12 inches of penetration at 15 yards into ballistic gel — enough to make plenty of bacon even on the toughest hogs.
Might be worth a try!

Not bad, but I like the Dixie Tri-Ball load.
Comprised of 3 hardcast shot of .600" diameter weighing 315 grs. each @ 1100 fps.
3" magnum shell.
Yes, they do kick.
Glad to see the ammo manufacturers (nearly all of them) offering new products and sometimes even improving on old ones.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

Agreed, flintknapper! The ammo folks continue to improve the performance of powder and projectiles, and it's kinda fun (although a bit expensive)to experiment with each new product they come out with for us to try.

I started using 00Buck on hogs last year. At 35 yards I had 5 pellets go completely through both shoulders and exit on a mid size Boar. That was just regular old lead pellets. Had similar results on a few smaller Sows and Boars as well. Seems to me based on my limited experience they improved on something that really didn't need improving.
Never used slugs on hogs so cant comment on that. I will be sticking with good old lead 00 though.
