Having a pool in "live oak central" totally sucks this time of year. Learn from my mistake - if/when moving/building, no matter how much the women (and girls) in your life whine for one, DON'T GET A POOL.

I've had one since I was a kid. Bought the house from my mom and pools are nothing but a money pit. When they're new, they're great, then it begins, My new place has a pool, with a mud bottom and it turns out the grandkids have just as much fun in it.

I looked a small ranch to buy that had a nice house with a swimming pool. I told the real estate agent the first thing I would do if I bought this place was get a bulldozer and fill in the pool. Live Oak blooms/pollen get in or on everything.

I love mine and used to have the same problem this time of year since I had a huge
live oak 15' away. Was great for shade since it was on the west side. Pool would
literally Be covered in that crap. Tree is now gone and have a 20x30 covered
pavilion. A cover this time of year would help a lot, esp for the 2 weeks the
live oak pollenates.

No desire to own a pool. If I owned one it would be converted to a pond.

Man I feel ya, I'm covered up in Live Oaks. I turned my pool pumps off two days ago, I'm done. It's a green algae pit full of frogs now. I'm in the process of borrowing a pump, it's getting pumped out. If I end up keeping this house I'm wripping the pool out and filling it in. I can't afford it anymore and am tired of keeping up with it. bang curious to see how much I save on my electric bill.
