Your best bet would be to find someone around Uvalde or West Tx. Good luck

Ive hunted varmints for 20 years and have never seen a ringtail. The last 6 years ive hunted 8 predator contests a year in the winter, early spring and probably atleast 8 hunts just taking friends and families a year. I've got grey fox, red fox, several cats, a couple coyotes, and a coon mounted. Need the ringtail to add to the collection.

Call Dan Brinlee. He is an outfitter south of Sheffield. Theres plenty of ringtail cats on the land he leases and they are very easy to call. When you get into that part of Texas they're the first varmint to show up to a call. I think he still has 60,000 acres of the Hare ranch leased in Terrell county. I'll bet you can work a deal with Brinlee to spend a couple of nights down there and kill a mess of ringtails and fox.

I have one that lives in an old 1964 chevy that is in the pasture. There are plenty around the Hill Country. Be best to get one in the winter when the fur is better.

I hardly ever see them any more. Saw the first one in several years about a month ago in one of my dry creek beds. Wouldn't let anyone shoot mine because they're so rare here anymore. Just like javelinas they're getting pushed farther and farther away from the hill country.
Used to be pretty thick.

I lost the only ringtail I've seen ... Went to my blind in Leakey tx and sucker was hanging out in my blind . Shot him at like 10 yards with a 6.8 .... Must have grazed him cause I found him bleeding hiding under a rock and tried to wait him out . Walked over to grab my stuff and came back and he was gone
