It's between one of these two...what say you? Pros and cons of each? Will be my first so be gentle cheers I'm leaning towards the Colt just cuz of tradition and the classic "black gun" look but liked the Sig also. Thanks

Both are great guns. Can't go wrong either way. If you like the Colt, pull the trigger!

Whatever you do upgrade the trigger from that 5.5 lb mil spec trigger its completely worth the money.

I bought a 6920, accurate and reliable. Not one ftf or fte in almost 2000 rounds, and half of those were cheapo tula steel case. I've cleaned it once. Military spec triggers do suck, I plan to upgrade mine eventually

First of all, i would highly recommend the JP spring kit. Super easy to install. Won't do anything for cleanliness of feel but drastically reduces weight even for a standard milspec like the one i have.

Without having or shot much of either, I'd go Colt just because it is the more iconic name in AR's. Apparently from what i read online, for those in the know they always get Colt small parts kit because they are supposed to be the best.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I would, without question, go with the Sig right now. This is what Colt is putting out the door these days:

That's a brand new rifle from the factory -- more here:

This plus an ALG ACT trigger make a very good "budget" trigger. Not a top-tier $200+ trigger, but very good for the money. A major upgrade from the factory triggers.

Thanks. I keep reading on-line about the "tight fit" the Sig has over the Colt. Numerous reviews. I unfortunately was not looking for that when I held them. I was mostly going for feel. I'm sure it's a cheap change out but I preferred the grip on the Sig and didn't really like the "finger groove" on Colt grip.
BUT because so many parts can be changed on these I am also mostly going on reliability of the "guts". Thanks again

I was in the same position last year and went with the Colt. I never did get to compare them. I upgraded the trigger to an RRA two stage and put a quad rail on it. It's my favorite gun.
