Just a doe, but I'm still excited about it. Free range axis just outside of Bandera. It was the first animal I've killed with a rage, I was impressed with the entrance hole and exit hole and massive blood trail, but my only concern was it was the first deer that I've never had a complete pass though on with that kind of shot placement. Prefect behind both shoulders, the arrow stuck out a little on each side. Not sure if that was the broadheads or just a fluke. She still expired within 30 yards though. It was also my first kill with my new HTX.

Congrats on some great eating cheers, don't be surprised with expandable broadheads not penetrating like fixed blade heads. Takes energy to open the expandable then the arrow is pushing through making a bigger hole resulting in more resistance that limits penetration.

Nice job! I have been trying to get one (without feeders or blinds) with my halon 5 for the last couple of weeks. I get pretty close, but they keep busting me at around 50 yards. Axis are a lot harder than deer to bow hunt.
