Anyone using AA2520 to load in their 30-06? I have loaded up some 168 TSXs with it and it shots great but seems to be a bit on the slow side, any idea of what real world muzzle velocity is?

Well, 2520 wouldn't be the best powder to get max speeds with in a 30-06 with a 168 grain bullet. The powder is on the faster burning side with a 168 grain bullet. If you went with a slower burning powder, like 4350, you will get the speeds up. With AA2520, you are probably in the 43 to 45 grain powder charge area. If you go to a slower burning powder, like 4350, you will be in the 55 to 59 grains of powder charges. More powder equals more speed, while keeping the pressures about the same. AA2520 can still shoot very well, but if you want the speeds up, you will need to change powders. But if it shoots good, just keep shooting it.

See pages 52-53.

Chad, what about RL-15, 17, or 19? BTW I started at 49 and went to 53 with the 2520. 49 & 51 were very accurate 53 very poor.

If you select a powder in the 4350 burn rate, it will pick up your speeds. I wouldn't use R17, since it's an aggressive double based powder that is VERY temp sensitive. R19 would work ok. R15 is nearly same burn rate as 2520. See chart below, and it will help you out. 4350 is my go-to for the 30-06 with most common weight bullets.

Re17 can be a very good performer in .30-06, but you gotta watch the hot loads in warmer weather. I've played with it for pushing 180-grain Partitions. Here is a QuickLOAD projection for different powders. Note that I have allowed a higher max pressure than the SAAMI spec. And this is NOT loading data.

Code:
Cartridge : .30-06 Spring. (SAAMI)
Bullet : .308, 168, Barnes 'TSX'BT 30351
Useable Case Capaci: 59.628 grain H2O = 3.872 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.340 inch = 84.84 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 61641 psi, or 425 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 112 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.

61 loads produced a Loading Ratio below user-defined minimum of 86%. These powders have been skipped.
