I would not build a 4x8 but build one larger. Go to a dealer and look at a 4'x8'. The 4' width is to narrow with office style swivel chairs and shelving. I would build a 5'x8' or 6'x9' if there are more than 3 of you. I built 4'x6' and with two chairs it is very tight for two people. It is tight with me and my camera/tripod set up. It was to tight when I had 2 adults and one child. If I had it to do over I would go 5'x7' for just two people.

A good way is lay out the size on the floor or drive way. Get the chairs, back pack, heater etc. place in lay out and try moving around. Should give good idea of size needed.

My preference is 5' x 6' for two people and 5' X 8' for three people. I agree with stx that a 4' width is a little too tight for my liking.

Thanks guys. I'll search the web today for some different plans and ideas. Think I'll go with the 5x8
